“Skanstes City” to Install Riga’s Largest Solar Power Station

The Skanstes City office center will install the largest rooftop solar power station in Riga. Additionally, 12 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be installed within the Skanstes City area, bringing the total investment to €235,000.
The solar power station project is currently being planned in collaboration with Latvenergo, with the goal of completing the installation by mid-next year. The station will have a capacity of nearly 300 kilowatts (kW). Solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of the buildings at Skanstes iela 50b and 50c, covering a total area of over 2,800 square meters and providing green energy for the Skanstes City office center and its tenants. The solar station is expected to generate up to 230 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity annually, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 100 households.
Additionally, a contract has been signed with Latvenergo for the delivery and maintenance of 12 new EV charging stations within the Elektrum charging network. These charging stations will be installed at Skanstes City, near the building at Skanstes iela 50, and will be available for customers starting early next year.
SG Capital Partner and Chairman of the Board, Harijs Švarcs, explains:
“Sustainability has been an integral part of Skanstes City’s business strategy since the beginning. So far, we have implemented many environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions, including a Building Management System (BMS) for temperature and climate control, CO2 sensors, improved energy efficiency by upgrading ventilation, cooling, and elevator systems, and installed light sensors and LED lighting. We continue to drive positive change by offering our clients sustainable solutions, such as green energy from our new solar power station and convenient EV charging options. The solar station will reduce CO2 emissions by 28 tons per year, making a significant contribution to the environment.”
