Skanstes City Expands Parking Lot, Enhancing the District’s Convenience

With the growing number of tenants, Skanstes City has unveiled a new parking lot, further expanding the district’s amenities. With a total investment exceeding €2 million, this new addition provides 380 new parking spaces, increasing the total number of parking spots within the district to 1,300.

Special attention was given to sustainable solutions and reducing carbon emissions in this project. The new parking lot includes 40 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, bringing the total number of charging points in Skanstes City to 82, making it one of the largest EV charging hubs in the Baltics. Furthermore, the design allows for the addition of 40 more charging points in the future, reinforcing the district’s commitment to environmentally friendly transportation solutions.

“This is a highly significant project for the development of the Skanstes City district, allowing us to achieve multiple objectives – revitalizing an old and degraded area by transforming it into a new parking facility, significantly improving access to both traditional and electric vehicle parking, and creating a foundation for the future development of the Skanstes 50 territory. According to our district development plan, we aim to continue expansion in 2025, making significant improvements to the outdoor areas surrounding office buildings. This includes new pavement, landscaping, lighting, and various urban design elements. In our view, projects like this – combined with the newly built Laktas 16 parking lot, renovated office buildings, and the adjacent city park – will integrate into a unified, modern, safe, and sustainable business district, marking a key milestone in the area’s transformation,” says Andris Kozlovskis, Board Member of SIA Skanstes City.

The construction of the new parking lot was carried out by Ceļu Būves Firma Igate, with design work provided by Iela Inženieri SIA, and construction supervision ensured by Būvkonsultants SIA. The parking lot spans 1.6 hectares, offering ample space for both conventional and electric vehicles.

With this project, Skanstes City continues to strengthen its position as one of Riga’s leading and most dynamic business districts, offering modern and sustainable solutions for companies and their employees.

The Skanstes City business district is part of the SG Capital Partners Fund 1 KS real estate portfolio. SG Capital Partners Fund 1 KS is a Latvia-registered commercial real estate fund, managed by SG Capital Partners AIFP, an alternative investment fund manager registered with the Financial and Capital Market Commission.
